How to get Retro Texture in Procreate
In this tutorial, we're drawing a retro effect narwhal and iceberg art print! This is a mega fun project, totally approachable for multiple experience levels - even if you're a complete beginner to drawing in Procreate!
This video gets into some nitty gritty masking techniques - from clipping masks, to alpha lock, to reference layers. If you’ve ever wondered how to layer in texture, these tips will totally help! The idea for this piece was to create a retro print effect. I’ve been super into vintage matchbook covers (it sounds random, but they’re so cool!), and so I used that aesthetic as the jumping off point.
